OFFICIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ISSUE OF VINTAGE PLATES(As required by DVLA from 1st January 2003)
PROOF OF ENTITLEMENT CODES *1 = Registration Document [V5] preferred
The 11 digit document reference number in section D to be recorded, or
2 = Certificate of entitlement to a mark [V750] .
The registration mark and certificate number printed in the details of entitlement section should be recorded, or
3 = Cherished transfer retention document [V778] , or
4 = Vehicle Licence Renewal [V11] , or
5 = Authorisation slip from DVLA Local Office with Official DVLA stamp.
This will apply when DVLA authorises a customer to buy plates bearing a particular registration mark, eg. in the case of a Cherished Transfer.
PROOF OF IDENTITY CODES *A = Photocard Driving Licence (preferred) , or
B = Bank/Building Society statement or recent utility bill
with one of the following
C = current paper Driving Licence (the driver number should be recorded)
D = Passport
E = Credit/Debit card with Photograph
F = Travel pass card with Photograph
G = Foreign national Identity Card
